If relaxing the body is hard for you, chances are you struggle to let go of constant thought and chatter in the mind.
The overactive mind can be just as harmful to our wellness as physical activity. An essential thread to achieving health and wellness is staying present when we respond to what stresses us. This includes how we relate to worry, anticipation, and lack of sleep. What is Yomassage®?
Yomassage® is a unique combination of yoga, massage and meditation.
Yomassage® was founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to therapeutic touch. Whether you’ve never received a therapeutic massage before or don’t receive it as often as you’d like, Yomassage is more affordable than traditional massage therapy.
In addition to accessibility, Yomassage® is offered in a safe group setting where participants are clothed. Our group setting may appeal to you if you deal with trauma and anxiety that has stopped you from experiencing a traditional massage.
The “yo” in Yomassage® is based on the principles of yoga: focus on the breath and the yogic philosophy of looking within. The combination of touch, gentle stretch, and mindfulness offer an avenue for relaxation and healing.
What to Expect
During our Billings Yomassage® in Montana:
Each Yomassage® class begins with a breathing exercise to establish a mind-body connection. You are encouraged to focus on this connection and your breath during the length of the class.
Your certified Yomassage® therapist will guide you into various restorative stretches supported by yoga props that are held 8-10 minutes. Once you are supported the therapist will provide therapeutic massage to different parts of the body.

The Pillars of Yomassage®
The goal of each Yomassage® experience is pure relaxation. It is necessary for the body to get un-stuck from the flight or flight and transition into rest and digest in order to heal. The practice of Yomassage® offers the three most popular tools for relaxation: Touch, Stretch and Breath.
Touch
Basic human need.
As we age the amount of touch received and given decreases. The importance of regular touch is pivotal throughout life for our overall emotional well being, sense of safety and connection to others in our community.
Stretch
Slow and gentle release.

Do I need to bring anything?
What should I wear?
You do not need to bring anything — everything will be provided for you and ready for your arrival. Please wear comfortable, preferably fitted clothing, similar to what you might wear to a yoga or exercise class to allow for comfort, stretch and massage.
I’ve never done yoga and I’m not flexible at all… is this for me?
Yes, you don’t need to have any yoga experience, or any level of flexibility to get the full benefits of Yomassage®. Variations of each position are offered, always starting with the most supported and gentlest version, so please do not worry if you cannot touch your toes or even your knees. However, you do need to be able to get yourself safely down to the floor, and up back at the end of class.
I’m pregnant-can I still attend a Yomassage® class?
Sure! If you are cleared by your doctor to receive massage therapy and can safely get to the floor, you can make Yomassage® an enjoyable part of your prenatal self-care routine. Comfortable and safe variations of positions are offered for pregnant participants. Please alert your therapist when you pre-register that you are expecting and how far along you are.
Are there drop-in classes, or must I pre-register?
There are no drop-in classes, and you must pre-register to reserve your spot. Payment is required when you pre-register and refunds are not given if you arrive after the door is locked (10 minutes prior to the start of class), if you cancel or reschedule less than 24 hours prior to a class, or if you no-show.
